August 25, 2021 Visit Madison

Planning a trip is fun, but planning a trip where your dog can come along is even better! Madison offers plenty to do with your four-legged friend if you’re the person who’s always asking “can I bring my dog?” From outdoor dining options to homemade dog treats, you and your furry friend are in for a good time in Madison!

Clifty Falls State Park

Strap on your hiking boots and grab a water (and a bowl for your pup!) to set out on one of Clifty Falls’ hiking trails. Together, you and your pet can explore all of the sights (and sniffs) of this beautiful state park that’s right in the heart of Madison. With over ten trails to choose from, you’ll be sure to get some great exercise in for you and for fido!

Insta-worthy spot at the Broadway Fountain!

Dog-Friendly Eateries

After you’ve worked up an appetite on the trail, stop by one of our several restaurants in Downtown Madison that offer dog-friendly outdoor patio dining!

Need some caffeine? Swing by The Red Roaster or Crafted Coffee and enjoy your coffee and bagel while people watching along one of the busiest sidewalks in the downtown area. Bonus: in the summertime, they usually have a big water bowl outside just for dogs!

In the mood for a heartier meal? The Red Pepperoni has a wide array of options from pizzas to salads along with beautiful outdoor patio seating for you and your pup to enjoy.

If you’re feeling more of a cheeseburger and French fries, Hinkle’s is the perfect place! They have several picnic tables outside of their restaurant that is perfect for a dog-friendly dining option.

Jumping straight to dessert? Head on down to Chillbilly Treats on the riverfront and grab yourself a soft-serve ice cream cone (and maybe a pup cup for your furry friend!).

Top off your trip with a craft beer from the Mad Paddle Brewstillery! They have a one-of-a-kind outdoor patio setting where you can enjoy the scenery just as much as your pup will enjoy getting lots of pets and attentions from other restaurant-goers. If you’re more partial to wine, visit our local wineries Thomas Family Winery and Lanthier Winery that also have great outdoor areas for you and your four-legged friend to explore!

The Riverfront is perfect for a stroll with your pup!

Dog-Friendly Shops

Looking to pamper yourself after an active day in Madison? Stop by Fountain Alley Bodycare and prepare to be awed by their wide assortment of everything from bath bombs to beard oil!

Do you love antiques? Muddy Fork Antiques & Collectibles is a must! Peruse this fun and eclectic shop with your furry friend by your side.

Want to commemorate your fun trip with a Madison t-shirt? Madison Made is the perfect place! Find the perfect souvenir here that is puppy approved!

The Farmer’s Market of Madison

Here on a Saturday? Stop by our Farmer’s Market at the Broadway Fountain from 8AM-12PM to browse through our local vendors’ booths while enjoying some music and a bite to eat from a food truck (in the summer months)! Not only will you find some unique treasures for yourself, but you’ll also find lots of other dogs for your pup to befriend! The Farmer’s Market is a regular dog hot-spot.

Blue Cerebus

Before you end your trip to Madison, you have to stop by Madison Apothecary to get your furry friend some homemade dog treats from local business Blue Cerebus! They offer creative goodies for your canine companion to enjoy.
